The project

Skills4Life focuses on the personal development of young offenders and tries to ensure that they have the opportunity to grow and develop throughout their lives, in order to find meaning in their lives and prepare for release.
The project’s objective is to develop a learning program that will address the individual’s needs – emotional, psychological and social – so that they can achieve personal development, autonomy and independence and provide them with the necessary mechanisms to assist them in their daily lives.

The process

Based on the information gathered from interviews with inmates and ex-inmates (100 in total) and the literature review, the Skills4life program is developed. It is a 40-hour learning program consisting of four ten-hour modules.
To successfully implement the program, different materials will be developed: an implementation guide, a trainer’s guide and a student handbook with a post-release life plan.
Eight educators from different partner countries will be recruited and trained by the research team to implement the program and participate in the pilot.

We are looking for volunteers to participate in the project, prison visitors, lawyers, supervisors, managers….
